When did you first start attending Northeast and why did you stay?  Almost two years ago. I’m a Christian and was looking for a church that speaks the truth. God uses Bob Cherry to speak the truth!  Awesome church!

What or who inspires you?  Tari Reynolds

What’s your idea of a perfect day?  Laying on a white sandy beach by an ocean, sunny skies where it is peaceful and quiet and with my husband.

What was your first step in getting involved at Northeast?  Went to a Christmas service…and then called Jay Close to find out if NECC had a Job Seekers Workshop

Your biggest indulgence?  Buying a (small) Baby Grand for myself six years ago because I love piano.  I had to sell mine 20+ years ago and it was a wedding gift at the time.

What do you think makes a good leader, someone that you’ll follow?  Honesty and who communicates with love

What has God been teaching you lately?  To give “everything” to God and trust in  Him

If you could ask God one question, what would it be? What’s it like in Heaven?  I wish I could see  my Dad or Mom who have past away

If you could be on a reality TV show, what would it be? Don’t like reality shows

What or who makes you laugh?  I Love Lucy shows, Emma, my granddaughter, Laura Wingfield

What is your nickname, and how did you earn it?  “Joanie”  My family and closest friends have always called me that – it fits me better than “Joan”

What are two things always in your fridge?  Butter and eggs

In a few short lines, here is my faith story…I remember when I was baptized in Otter Creek back in Toddville, Iowa 36 years ago and proclaimed that God was my Lord and Savior.

Describe your job at Northeast, and why you love what you do.  I have two roles…1) Benevolence – I listen to people’s problems and the situations they are in and want to help them. I want to get them to the next step in their life so they can be independent and to know God more.  I love helping people in need.  My mother always said “there is always someone worse off than you”.  It makes me very thankful for what God has given me.  2) Connect – to help people get connected within the church, whether it be a bible study, life group, or serving 16. How long have you been working at Northeast?  Since November 23, 2009

Retirement dream?  Have a lake  or beach home to go to so I can invite friends and family….Travel to Switzerland and other European countries before I’m too old to travel  AND TO RELAX!!

Proudest moment?  Giving birth to my daughter, Lindsay, and to see my granddaughter born, Emma Grace.  I was the first one to hold her!!   ALSO TO HAVE THE LAST CHILD GRADUATED FROM COLLEGE!!  Yippee!!  One left to get married and that is next year.  Double Yippee!!
