1:1 Mentoring at Northeast Christian Church
Did you know that almost 70% of new believers drift away
from their decision for Christ within 3 months of becoming a new Christian? One
of the ways that Northeast desires to change that trend is through a 1:1
mentoring relationship.
Typically people begin mentoring after
taking Starting Point. They are matched up with a mentor that they meet with,
regularly, 1 hour a week for about 10 weeks. During that time, people
go through 10 lessons in a book entitled “First Steps”. This book is
designed to help people develop a spiritual foundation along with spiritual
disciplines.
Growing “old” in our faith is natural,
but Jesus calls us to grow “up” in our faith, which is unnatural. Mentoring
provides a natural way for growing “up” in your faith, as it helps you go in
the right direction.
