Prom Project 2012

Prom Project is an event where girls who lack the financial resources to attend their Prom can get a gown, shoes and jewelry all FREE OF CHARGE!  We have helped make the dreams of over 1,500 girls come true!

Need A Dress?

Prom Project is a special experience for junior and senior girls. Prom Project is an Outreach Ministry sponsored by Northeast Christian Church and provides formal attire & accessories to girls wishing to attend their prom, but lack the financial resources to help make their day extra special.  It is available to girls currently enrolled in high school in Louisville, Southern Indiana and all surrounding counties. 

APPOINTMENTS WILL BE REQUIRED.

Over 1,000 dresses and countless accessories are in our inventory just waiting for the perfect princess.  Each girl receives a complete prom apparel package.  All items are free and are hers to keep.

How to Request Appointment for Prom Project Boutique

Referral forms have been mailed to all Jefferson County High Schools as well as surrounding county high school and agencies.  Girls must be currently enrolled in high school as a junior or senior.  Additional Referral Forms can be obtained at www.promprojectky.com Referral forms can be completed ONLY BY COUNSELORS, YSC, OR SOCIAL CARE AGENCIES.  Appointment certificates will be mailed directly to school Counselor, YSC or Social Care Agency.  Students may not request referral forms or contact Prom Project directly for appointments.  Financial information is not required.

Referral Request DEADLINE:  Friday, March 2, 2012.

An appointment certificate will be sent for each girl and will be distributed to the girls by Counselor, YSC or Social Agendy.  Appointments will be assigned every 30 minutes.  Each girl must bring her appointment certificate signed by a parent/guardian giving her permission to visit Prom Project while also giving Prom Project permission to photograph the experience.
 

How Can I Help?

Prom Project relies solely on donations and volunteers to provide complete prom attire free of charge to junior and senior girls in Louisville, Southern Indiana and surrounding counties.  We want to lift these girls up and make them feel special, cherished and help them to know that God loves them.

Volunteers Needed

Approximately 150 volunteers are needed to serve on March 9 and 10.  To sign up to volunteer, visit www.promprojectky.com.

Donations Needed

ADOPT A PIGGY FOR PROM
You can help make a girl's dream come true when you adopt a piggy bank for prom.  All money collected will be used to purchase items not received through donations.  Feed your piggy with spare change and turn him in at Northeast Christian Church when he is full.  To adopt your piggy bank, pick one up at the Serve booth or contact Jennifer Simpson at jennifer@promprojectky.com or (502) 553-4915.

In Kind Donations Needed:

  • Dry cleaning services

  • Clear, plastic garment bags to cover dresses girls are taking home

  • Shopping bags for shoes and accessories

  • Refreshments for day of event

Prom Project Attire Needed (Drop off locations listed below):

  • Formal Gowns - We accept all sizes with a special need for sizes 16-30.  Gowns should be stain and rip free

  • Gowns should be less than 3 years old.

  • Jewelry - Especially rhinestones

  • Shoes - Especially silver and gold

  • Purses/Evening Bags - Especially silver and gold

Monetary Gifts are always welcome to help purchase items not donated such as:

  • Bibles or Devotion material to send home with each girl

  • Contemporary Christian CDs to send home with each girl

  • Plus size dresses

  • Shoes

  • New Clothing Racks

  • Materials to build portable dressing rooms
