When did you first start attending Northeast and why did you stay?  I started attending Northeast in 1997 - I stayed because it was small, welcoming and each sermon spoke directly to my heart almost each and every week

What or who inspires you?  Darrell my great husband inspires me every day.  He leaves his family with words of widsom, challenges, funny notes and Bible verses every day of the week and he makes us all think each day about how we can be better.  Better at serving, better at relationships, better at work, school, home - he truly leads us all and he does it lovingly - he really does make me want to be the best person I can be each day.

What's your idea of a perfect day?  Waking up, getting a cup of coffee, stepping onto a white sandy beach, taking a walk with my husband, followed by hanging with my kids and sisters and brother in-laws and parents, nieces and nephews- something we do each and every year and something I look forward to all year.

What was your first step in getting involved at Northeast?  Taking the Starting Point class - it wasn't called Starting Point back then - Bob and Steve led the class - it was mine and Darrell's first step to becoming members.

What do you think makes a good leader?  I think I'm easy to talk to.  I will listen to you and support you but I will be honest with you and try to guide you in a way that is both pleasing to God and also a good choice for you.

What has God been teaching you lately?  Flexibility - stepping into the Director role last minute, opening up Kidville, coaching in the nursery - all these roles are continually changing and God keeps telling me to go one way and then another and be ok with that.

If you could ask God one question, what would it be?  How am I doing?  Am I doing what he wants - what more can I do/am I being who he created me to be?

If you could be on a reality TV show, what would it be?   I would love to be on Teen Mom and counsel the young mom's on that show

What or who makes you laugh?  My husband and kids make me laugh - all of them - everyday and in different ways - my dogs too!

What is your nickname, and how did you earn it?  I don't really have one - I have one brother in-law that calls me Sue - he's the only one in the family that calls me that

What two things are always in your fridge?  Fruit and cheese - I have three teenagers - there is usually nothing in my fridge!

In a few short lines, here is my faith story . . . I was invited to Northeast by my best friend.  I was starting a new chapter in my life and wasn't sure how the story was going to go.  After attending just one service I felt at home but stirred inside.  Each week I left feeling challenged, humbled and a little scared.  God was working on me week by week to learn to trust him and trust others.  He started healing me and the pain caused by a broken marriage and being a single mom.  He gave me friends and worked on my heart one word at a time.  I felt connected to Northeast the very first time I came - I never went anywhere after my visit to Northeast.   Thirteen years later I am still humbled and challenged but a lot less scared of how God will work in my life.
