Up for Women and Children
Serving Homeless Women and Children
Our Mission is to provide a healthy, safe environment for homeless women and children that offers opportunities and encouragement for achieving self-sufficiency. By providing shelter and resource options through a partnership of providers, UP for Women and Children is where homeless women are empowered to find hope, help, and refuge.
Our model is simple – partner with anyone and everyone who can help to address the issue of family homelessness: congregations, individuals, cities and counties, and businesses of all sizes. We hope you will join us!
Our Vision is to ensure safety for single women as well as parenting women and their dependent children who are experiencing homelessness by providing a safe, reliable, and supportive space that offers comprehensive services. By working with additional service providers, we adequately link women, children, and families to vital supports that they need to be empowered.Contact For More InformationWebsiteFacebook
Led By His Love
Serving the Homeless
Led by His Love started in 2017 as a result of the needs that we have found throughout the city. They provide case management and outreach to the homeless and underserved in our area, as well as to families of children in the JCPS Head Start program.
Led by His Love’s mission is based on 1 John 4:19 “We love because He first loved us.” We say that we are Led by His Love because the people are many and the need is great for just the basics, but just the basics can mean the world to someone in need! Our goal is to help others and show His love through our actions.Contact For More Information

Mission statement: we are a Christ-centered ministry reaching out to those incarcerated and their families; serving needs before, during and after incarceration through mentoring and assistance with basic needs to equip for successful re-entry into society.
36% of inmates quickly return to the environment that led them to prison- drugs, isolation, homelessness, and crime. The goal of A Prisoners Hope is to break the cycle and help them integrate into society to lead productive, drug-free lives. There are three main programs in place: Pre-Incarceration, Incarceration, and Post-Incarceration. There are support groups to assist with all three programs for the families “left behind” while their loved one is in jail every step of the way. While in jail, there are programs in place to rehabilitate the old way of life into a new walk with Christ. The Daniel Project includes; Discipleship classes, Accountability groups weekly meeting, New arrival packet, Intercession groups, Evangelism team, Letter writing ministry.Contact For More InformationWebsiteFacebook

Comfort Cover is a dedicated volunteer group that joins together on a weekly basis to make no-sew fleece blankets for Norton Suburban Hospital cancer patients. These blankets are given to oncology, surgical, and pediatric day surgery patients, and the chaplains give them to patients or families of patients that could use a little extra comfort and love. Additionally, the Comfort Cover group makes “angel” blankets. These special blankets are used to wrap infants that do not make it to term or are stillborn. The angel blankets are lovingly designed as two blankets tied together with ribbon so that when the time comes, the mother is able to keep part of the blanket while leaving the other part with the infant.
As a growing ministry, Comfort Cover is looking for new members who feel God calling them to provide comfort to the sick. No special talents are needed – just a desire to touch someone’s life with love.Contact For More Information
At Northeast, we care about the forgotten. Eastern Cemetery is one of those places that over the years, has been forgotten. We want to help restore the beauty of one of Kentucky’s oldest cemetery by helping maintain the grounds.
Throughout the spring and summer, we have a group that meets regularly to keep up the grounds. So, if you love yard maintenance, mowing, weed-eating, etc, this is a great opportunity for you.
To learn more about Eastern Cemetery, check out the organization that primarily takes care of the grounds: Friends of Eastern CemeteryWebsite
Trikes For Tikes
In 2000, Trikes for Tikes was founded by Northeast Christian Church members who repaired and donated 25 bicycles at Christmas to assist children in our community whose families didn’t have the financial resources to provide these gifts. When the ministry was started, the blessings were always centered on Christmas and focused on only young children. Since that time, the ministry has expanded to serve adults as well as children and has developed some relationships that allow us to serve the community on a year-round basis. Trikes for Tikes has established a long-term partnership with various organizations including Home of the Innocents, Boys and Girls Haven, Centro Latino, Catholic Charities, St. Vincent DePaul Society as well Beecher’s Terrace and Park Hill housing community and others depending on need.Contact For More InformationFacebook
