Eastern Cemetery Clean Up & Flag Ceremony
Eastern Cemetery needs our help once again. Northeast has been a huge presence in the Clifton community and we want to continue to shower them with LOVE. On Saturday, May 25 we will be working in teams to mow, weed-eat, pick up limbs, etc. We will work from 8:30 am -12:30 pm and will have a flag placing ceremony at 12:30 pm.
WHAT TO BRING: Please bring your lawn mowers, weed eaters and garden tools! Also, please bring your water bottles and snacks!
PARKING: Please park at Breckinridge Franklin Elementary (1351 Payne Street 40206) and walk to the back gate of Eastern Cemetery which is adjacent to Breslin Park at 1388 Lexington Road.
Eastern Cemetery has a long history in Louisville, dating all the way back to the 1840s. Due to a number of reasons, the cemetery is now maintained by a total volunteer group called Friends of Eastern Cemetery. One of the biggest weekends at the cemetery is Memorial Day weekend as families return to the cemetery to place flowers, flags, etc. This year, we want them to be blown away by the number of volunteers who are working and how much work has been accomplished.
