Next Steps Team
Helps people connect to the life of Northeast and discover their best next step through the Northeast Basics environment. Volunteers welcome participants, build relationships at tables, help prepare the space, communicate potential next steps to ministry leaders, and create opportunities for newcomers to connect with pastors and others in the church.
Baptism Host
Walks alongside people as they prepare for baptism, helping create a caring, prayerful, and memorable experience. Hosts communicate and pray with participants before baptism, collaborate with the Baptism Team Pastor, and help ensure the baptism experience runs smoothly.
Post-Baptism Discipleship
Walks alongside newly baptized individuals through the basics of following Jesus. Volunteers meet regularly for six weeks, work through the I Said Yes booklet, provide prayer and accountability, create space for questions, and help participants connect to a group or serving environment for continued growth.
Women’s Ministry
Helps care for, celebrate, and spiritually encourage the women of Northeast through prayer, community, and events. Team members collaborate with ministry leadership to plan programming, lead several events each year, recruit volunteers, and shepherd women toward deeper relationships with God and one another.
Mentor Leader
Leads a group through a nine-month discipleship journey centered on reading, studying, and memorizing Scripture. Mentors organize meetings, facilitate discussion, encourage and challenge participants, pray for them, lead a retreat, and help each person develop a ministry plan that includes serving others.
Small Group Leader
Creates a discipleship-focused community where people are known, cared for, and encouraged to grow in their relationship with Jesus. Group Leaders facilitate rather than simply teach, encourage honest conversation, shepherd members, organize gatherings, and model an authentic life connected to Jesus.
Men’s Ministry
Helps connect men to Jesus, biblical community, and their next step in discipleship. Team members build relationships, pray for the ministry, welcome new men, and help plan and lead events, groups, retreats, service opportunities, and other environments that encourage spiritual growth.
Care Group Leader
Leads a group designed to care for people experiencing a particular life need or season. Leaders draw from Scripture, prayer, and often their own experiences to facilitate authentic care, connect members with appropriate church resources, and partner with the Care Pastor when additional support is needed.
Prayer Team
Provides prayer, encouragement, and spiritual support to people during Sunday services. Volunteers prepare together in prayer before the service, make themselves available to pray with individuals, and direct those needing longer-term care toward appropriate next steps.
Marriage Mentor
Provides spiritual leadership, mentoring, and coaching to couples preparing for marriage or seeking to strengthen their relationship. Marriage Mentors work alongside the Care Team and use Northeast’s established marriage-care programs to help couples build flourishing, Christ-centered marriages.

Parking
Helps guests and regular attendees safely and efficiently enter and leave campus so parking does not become a barrier to their church experience. Volunteers assist with traffic flow, set up and remove cones and barriers, and help people safely navigate crosswalks.
Coffee
Creates a welcoming Sunday environment by preparing coffee and keeping the coffee station stocked and inviting. This role combines practical hospitality with friendly interaction to help people feel comfortable and cared for.
Welcome Center Host
Welcomes new attendees who visit the Welcome Center, provides gifts and helpful information, answers questions, and directs people throughout the building. The role helps guests feel personally welcomed while connecting them with events and opportunities at Northeast.
Greeter
The uploaded First Impressions document does not include a separate position titled “Greeter.” The closest documented role is Usher, which greets people as they enter the auditorium, engages guests in conversation, and helps attendees find seating when needed.
Medical
Serves as a first responder when a medical emergency occurs during a Sunday service. Volunteers carry the medical radio and bag and provide appropriate emergency care. Because of the nature of the role, volunteers must have professional medical training, such as a doctor, nurse, or EMT.

Classroom Leader
Creates a welcoming, safe, and engaging small-group environment where kids build relationships, learn biblical truths, and experience the love of Jesus. Classroom Leaders prepare and facilitate weekly lessons, guide discussion and activities, model positive behavior, and partner with families and the NE Kids team to help every child feel known and valued.
Stage Host
Leads a fun, engaging, and age-appropriate large-group experience through games, worship, teaching, communion, and announcements. Stage Hosts prepare creative teaching, encourage participation, build relationships with kids and volunteers, and model enthusiastic spiritual leadership.
First Impressions
Creates a warm and stress-free arrival experience for families by welcoming new guests, assisting with check-in, providing directions, answering questions, and helping children feel comfortable. This team helps remove barriers for visiting families while communicating the safety, care, and hospitality of NE Kids.
Tech
Supports the NE Kids large-group experience by running slides, music, and basic lighting for worship, games, transitions, and teaching. Tech volunteers follow the service flow and cues to create smooth transitions and a distraction-free environment where kids can stay engaged and focused on Jesus. No prior tech experience is required.
Social Media
Captures authentic photos and short videos during NE Kids services to tell the story of what God is doing in the ministry. Volunteers highlight joyful moments of worship, learning, games, and activities while following photo policies and providing content that helps families stay connected.
Inclusion Ministry Volunteer
Provides intentional one-on-one or small-group support for children with additional needs so they can safely and fully participate in NE Kids. Volunteers partner with classroom leaders to encourage engagement, assist with transitions and activities, respond patiently to individual needs, and help every child feel seen, valued, and included.

Creates a welcoming, organized, and secure arrival experience for students and families. Volunteers greet guests, assist with Planning Center check-in and registration, answer questions, and follow safety procedures so students feel known and comfortable from the moment they arrive.
Small Group Leader
Disciples students through grade- and gender-based groups centered on authentic community, biblical growth, and Christ-centered transformation. Leaders use provided curriculum, facilitate honest conversations, mentor students, and build relationships that help students grow in their faith and take meaningful next steps with Jesus.
Carpool
Helps create a safe, organized, and efficient student pickup experience. Volunteers direct traffic, communicate with parents and team members, call students for pickup via walkie-talkie, and help students safely connect with their parents at the end of the night.
Tech & Production
Uses technology to create a distraction-free environment where students can clearly see Jesus. Volunteers serve in slides, sound, or lighting, following the service flow, attending rehearsal, responding to cues, and working together to support worship and teaching. Slides and lighting can be learned from scratch, while sound benefits from previous experience or a musical ear.
Worship
Uses established musical or vocal gifts to help create a worship environment where students can focus on Jesus. Team members prepare their assigned parts before rehearsal, know the service flow and set list, collaborate with other musicians, and use their gifts to glorify God.

ESL
Supports students as they develop English skills for daily life, work, and community interactions. Volunteers assist weekly ESL classes, occasionally teach or substitute, encourage students throughout their learning, communicate student needs and progress, and model the love of Jesus through respectful and caring relationships.
Global Missionary Liaison
Builds an ongoing relationship with an assigned Northeast missionary or missionary family so they remain connected, encouraged, prayed for, and supported by their church community. Liaisons communicate monthly, gather updates and prayer requests, stay informed through newsletters, and communicate significant needs to Global Outreach leadership.
Non-Profit Liaison
Serves as the relational and communication link between Northeast and a partner nonprofit. The liaison builds relationships with nonprofit leadership, identifies needs and opportunities, connects Northeast volunteers with ways to serve, and communicates with the Outreach Pastor to strengthen and develop the partnership.
School Liaison
Serves as Northeast’s primary relational connection with a partner school, building relationships with school leadership while identifying ways to support staff, students, and families. Liaisons plan encouragement opportunities and events, respond to family needs, connect volunteers with serving opportunities, and help strengthen the church-school partnership.
School Leadership Team
Provides strategic guidance and support for Northeast’s school ministry and the Local Outreach Pastor. Team members use their experience, insight, networks, and leadership to strengthen school partnerships, assess needs and ministry opportunities, advise on resources, and help shape the direction of school outreach.

Instrumentalist
Uses musical ability to support congregational singing and help create an environment where people can encounter God. Instrumentalists prepare their assigned parts in advance, follow the worship leader’s direction, collaborate with the band, and model expressive, wholehearted worship.
Vocalist
Provides vocal leadership during worship services, singing melody or harmony while inviting the congregation to participate through both voice and expressive presence. Vocalists prepare ahead of time, follow the worship leader, collaborate with the team, and help create an environment where people can encounter God.
Worship Tech Backstage Volunteer
Supports the service behind the scenes by coordinating stage transitions, assisting speakers and worship team members, managing props and microphones, communicating cues, and responding to last-minute needs. This non-skilled role is focused on creating a calm, organized, distraction-free backstage environment.
Camera Operator
Captures smooth, focused, and intentional camera shots during services, events, and rehearsals to support visual storytelling and the worship experience. Camera Operators follow the director’s real-time cues, anticipate key moments, care for equipment, and arrive prepared for rehearsals and services.
FOH Audio
Creates a clear, balanced, and consistent in-room audio experience for worship, teaching, and other service elements. This skilled role requires previous audio experience and involves mixing vocals and instruments, managing EQ and compression, preventing feedback, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating closely with worship and production teams.

Photography
Captures meaningful moments from weekend services, ministry events, classes, service projects, camps, mission trips, celebrations, and other opportunities. Photographers use their creative gifts to tell Northeast’s story and provide the Communications team with high-quality images, including serving at a weekend service at least once per month.
Social Media
Captures authentic, creative cellphone photos and videos that showcase Northeast’s vision, culture, ministries, and events. Volunteers stay aware of social trends, help people feel comfortable on camera, submit content promptly, and contribute creative ideas for future social posts.
Graphic Design
Uses design and artistic skills to create and update graphics for Northeast ministries and events, including occasional creative or outside-the-box projects. Volunteers may work in Canva, Photoshop, or Illustrator and are expected to deliver completed assets within agreed-upon timelines.

Receptionist
Serves as the welcoming face and first point of contact for Northeast’s church offices. Receptionists greet guests and deliveries, answer and route phone calls, respond to questions about services and events, and use discretion when handling sensitive information.
S.W.A.T. (Servants With A Tool)
Supports Northeast ministries through practical, hands-on service on Wednesday mornings. After gathering for Bible discussion and prayer, the team assists with a variety of changing ministry needs—often including event setup and teardown—under the direction of the Campus Operations Director.
